KwaZulu-Natal Junior Champs 2010
Kings Park Swimming Pool, Durban 11th – 12th September 2010
THIS COMPETITION IS FOR SWIMMERS 12 YEARS & UNDER ONLY
Rules
The Championships will be swum under KZNA rules and regulations, which fall under SSA, and FINA rules. The one start rule shall apply. In case of a dispute the Referee’s decision will be final.
Conditions of Entry
Swimmers wanting to partake in these Championships must be registered by the 13th August 2010.
Entries submitted of swimmers not registered on the SSA Data Base by the above date, will not be accepted.
Visiting competitors are allowed.
Swimmers may only compete in their own age group according to the programme.
The age of the swimmer shall be determined by the swimmers age on the first day of the Championships. (11th September 2010).
The Championships will be run as Heats and Finals.
The Championships will be swum in 10 lanes.
The finals will commence 1 hour after the conclusion of the heats.
The organisers shall have the right to alter or consolidate heats, as they deem fit.
Trophies and Medals
Clubs will compete for the Bob Tatterson Memorial Trophy which will be awarded to the Club with the highest points scored.
Medals shall be awarded to the first 3 swimmers. Trophies will be awarded as follows;
Top 8 & Under Male and Female Swimmer
Top 9 Year Old Male and Female Swimmer
Top 10 Year Old Male and Female Swimmer
Top 11 Year Old Male and Female Swimmer
Top 12 Year Old Male and Female Swimmer
Relays
The relays will be swum as mixed relays with each team consisting of two girls and two boys. The names of the swimmers and reserves must be submitted with entries. The names of the team members must be finalised 10 minutes after the conclusion of the heats. Only swimmers entered into the meet may be entered into relays.

Withdrawals and Objections
Only the accredited Team Manager of a Club may:
Withdraw a competitor
Lodge an objection
Lodge any complaints.
Withdrawals from individual heat events are not necessary.
Withdrawals of swimmers from finals must be handed in no later than 10 minutes after the conclusion of the heats.
Protests
Protests are possible if the rules for the conduct of the competition have not been observed or if the conditions endanger the competitor/s. Protests may be lodged against decisions of the Referee, however no protests will be allowed against decisions of fact. Protests must be submitted to the Referee in writing by the appointed Team Manager, together with a deposit of R100.00 within 30 minutes following the conclusion of the specific event.
Points
Individual points – 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Double points will be awarded for relays. Only the A relays will score points.
Drug Testing
Drug testing may take place. Any swimmer on medication must submit a drug declaration form with their entry or before the start of the championships. Drug declaration forms are available from the KZNA office.

Heats - 09h00
Finals - 13h00
Closing Date for Entries
Friday, 27th August 2010 by no later than 12h00. Entries with no times will be accepted.
Late entries: Up to one hour prior to the start of the meet, provided there are lanes available, at 10x the original entry fee.

Hard copies can be faxed to the KZNA office on (031) 312 6405. Clubs should contact the office on (031) 312 7272 to confirm that all their entries have been received.
Clubs may submit manual entries to the office or place entries into the KZNA Office box at Kings Park. Please do not place any cash or cheques into the box.

R 12.00 per individual entry
R 15.00 per mixed relay team
